PixelDojo added Simple mode to Film Studio on October 26, offering a route from a one-sentence idea to a short film plan. Its release notes say users can read and revise the scenes, dialogue and sound before paying for generation. The planning stage is free, according to the company.

The October 26 entry describes films up to three minutes long, with editable scene order and character portraits that can be checked before rendering. Advanced mode remains available for users who want to direct individual shots. These are product claims, rather than results from an independent film-making test.
The review comes before the render
The useful workflow change is where an editor can intervene. A written plan exposes a weak opening, missing action or awkward scene transition before video generation begins. In Simple mode, PixelDojo says users can rewrite a scene, move it or add another at that stage. Rendering remains a separate step; free planning does not mean the completed video is free.
A storyboard serves the same basic purpose in conventional production: it makes a sequence visible before the finished film exists. PixelDojo's film-maker page describes assembling a film from multiple shots with a soundtrack. Simple mode places a more guided planning layer in front of that process, while Advanced retains shot-by-shot direction.
Plan the cover separately from the opening shot
The update also offers control over a scene's first frame and alternative takes. That can help an editor plan a recognisable opening, but it is not an announcement of automatic thumbnail selection. A cover image has to communicate the premise in a still; the first shot must also work in motion.
Our coverage of Canva's thumbnail design workflow concerns that separate image-making task. Likewise, Snapchat's separate preview assets show why a finished creative file does not always supply its own publishing preview. Here, the sensible editorial check is to inspect the planned opening and the intended cover together, while keeping their different jobs clear.
