Followers who miss a Twitch broadcast can now catch up through a Stream Recap. Twitch announced the feature on October 20: clips from a stream are brought together in a reel that appears in followers' mobile feeds and on the creator's channel. The streamer decides which clips stay in it.

The starting selection includes clips made by the creator and their editors. Stream Summary and the mobile app's plus button lead to the review, where clips can be added, removed or changed. It gives existing video clips a shared home after the live session has ended.
A recap still needs an editor
Imagine a streamer finally clearing a difficult game level. Keep only the celebration and an absent viewer may wonder what the fuss was about. Put a failed attempt before it and the same reaction has a setup. That small choice is the practical editorial opportunity in combining clips; we have not independently tested the new feature.
Twitch also provides cropping, caption editing and layout adjustments. These are useful after the sequence makes sense. A tool such as Instagram's reference Reels and style kits starts from a different problem, helping someone build an edit around an example. A recap starts with what already happened in one stream.
What the comments can tell a creator
The recap leaves something for followers to react to between broadcasts. Their comments may help a streamer choose a clip to share elsewhere. Before that second outing, check who can understand it without knowing the channel. The framing and caption questions covered in Reels editing guidance matter again when the audience changes.
Twitch's announcement says engagement can inform clip recommendations. That is a possible route to discovery, not a guaranteed audience for every reel. A third-party social promotion opportunity is due later this month, with the details still to be announced.
