Instagram is adding a Threads sticker to Stories, creating another route for sharing a text-led post with a visual audience. The feature surfaced in screenshots shared by creator Jonah Manzano and reported by Social Media Today. Rather than starting with a separate screenshot, the demonstrated tool lets users choose a Threads post and place it inside a Story.

Saved and liked posts become sharing options

The sticker draws on liked and saved Threads posts, including a user's own posts. A selected item can then be added to the Story frame. That gives the two apps a more direct publishing connection, although the report does not confirm that the option has reached every account.

A text post still needs a readable frame

The original wording is the point of a Threads post. When placing one in a Story, surrounding photos, captions and stickers should not make that wording hard to read. A useful preview checks the whole frame, not just whether the new sticker has been added successfully.

There is a separate timing consideration. Ordinary Instagram Stories disappear after 24 hours unless retained through features such as Highlights. Sharing a post into that format does not make its underlying information permanently current. Creators posting a ticket deadline, opening time or offer should check those details before recirculating it.

Another connection between Threads and Instagram

The addition follows Threads' experiments with more visual quotation formats, including the photo and video overlays for quote posts we covered earlier. That Threads feature and the Instagram sticker serve different publishing surfaces; one should not be presented as the other.

The move also sits alongside Instagram's broader attention to creation tools, seen in its updated Reels creation guidance. Stories remain a distinct format, so advice or performance claims about Reels should not simply be transferred to them.

For users who have the option, the practical change is modest: a liked or saved conversation can become part of a Story without rebuilding it manually. Whether that brings more people into the original discussion will depend on the post and audience. The feature announcement, by itself, is not evidence of higher reach.
