TikTok's new Must Eat guide gives restaurant videos a place beyond the scrolling feed. The dining feature, announced on October 28, brings community recommendations together in lists for New York City, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, with related TikTok clips appearing on restaurant pages.

People can browse Everyday Eats and Elevated Dining, narrow the results by criteria such as cuisine and price, save restaurants to collections and book selected venues through OpenTable. Social Media Today reports the launch, while Nation's Restaurant News says the guide draws on more than 40 million posts, reviews and comments.

Make the restaurant identifiable before polishing the clip

For a food creator, the useful change is the route from a restaurant listing back to a video. NRN reports access through search, the Local Feed, place pages and location anchors attached to videos about listed restaurants. A striking plate alone may not tell that viewer which branch, neighbourhood or visit the clip shows.

Our suggested preparation sequence is to confirm the venue and location tag, choose a cover frame that identifies the dish and place, then review any on-screen claims about price or availability. These are production choices, not a published formula for earning a Must Eat listing. TikTok has not promised a particular video's placement or reach.

Keep sponsorship information inside the video

The FTC's influencer guidance says a free or discounted product or service can create a relationship that needs disclosure. For video endorsements, that disclosure belongs in the video itself, rather than only its description. A restaurant page that sends a new viewer into a clip makes that placement especially useful.

A creator using thumbnail design tools can keep the cover specific without turning it into an unsupported award badge. During video styling, check that the restaurant name and any sponsorship disclosure remain readable. Must Eat adds a discovery surface; the exported clip still needs to explain itself.
