Reddit has expanded its lead-generation advertising tools, bringing the objective to Max campaigns and opening a HubSpot integration in beta. The update is aimed at advertisers seeking enquiries and prospective customers, rather than simply more impressions or video views.

Max campaigns get a lead-generation objective

Reddit says Max now supports lead-generation campaigns, using automation to adjust creative selection and delivery. Advertisers can direct people to their own landing pages and forms, then send collected leads into their customer-management systems.

There is also a beta for in-market audiences, initially covering enterprise, business-AI and cybersecurity categories. These audiences are intended to reach people researching a category before they contact a supplier. Reddit's claimed performance improvements come from its own testing; they are not a promised result for every campaign.

HubSpot is in beta; more tracking tools are still planned

The HubSpot integration is available in open beta for attribution, reporting and account setup. Reddit Pixel and Conversions API support within that integration are planned for later this year. They should not be treated as already delivered. Dreamdata's separate measurement integration is in alpha.

What happens after somebody clicks?

A thumbnail can persuade someone to open a video. A lead-generation ad has another job: the person needs to reach a form, understand the offer and decide whether to leave their details. The customer relationship management system then helps the business keep track of that enquiry and subsequent contact.

That is a different measurement problem from the creative experiments discussed in our coverage of YouTube's thumbnail testing tools. A version that attracts more clicks does not, on its own, demonstrate that those visitors became useful leads. Both numbers can matter without being interchangeable.

Reddit's update also sits beside the broader range of promotion options appearing across social apps, including Instagram's in-app boosts for live broadcasts. The objective, rather than the presence of an advertising button, determines what a campaign is trying to achieve.

The announcement puts more of the route from ad exposure to sales follow-up inside Reddit's advertising offering. The beta labels matter, though: businesses can evaluate the available tools without assuming that the promised tracking additions have already arrived.
