X opened its updated Lead Gen Ads format to self-serve advertisers worldwide on November 3, Social Media Today reported on Tuesday. Any business using X Ads Manager can now pick the Leads objective directly without going through a sales representative, following a closed test that began in late August.

Clicks stay inside the app instead of opening an external mobile browser. Tapping the call-to-action bar beneath a promoted post pulls up a native form where X pre-fills fields such as name and email address for users who have submitted a form on the platform before.
Palette-Sampled Buttons Under 1:1, 16:9, and 4:5 Posts
Campaigns accept Single Image uploads in 1:1, 16:9, and vertical 4:5 aspect ratios, MP4 or MOV video clips, mixed carousels holding two to six cards, and top-of-feed Timeline Takeover placements. Instead of rendering a plain gray or black strip underneath the media file, X samples dominant colors from the uploaded image or video thumbnail to tint the bottom call-to-action button automatically.
Dark text boxes or muddy borders near the bottom of a video frame can dull that sampled button color. Single thumbnails and multi-slide posts built in tools like Instagram Edits' carousel builder hold sharper button contrast when one clear brand color stays visible in the frame.
CSV Downloads in Leads Center and Real-Time CRM Webhooks
Form replies go into a new Leads Center tab inside Ads Manager. Teams can export contact rows as CSV files or send leads straight into customer relationship software over real-time webhooks alongside lead generation inside an in-app form takes a different path from TikTok's Q4 call-to-action ad buttons, which show discount offers on the button before sending buyers out to an external store page.
